Richard Moon (aka the Nana -pictured) has today put an end to speculation regarding his Troggs future. Moon released a short statement via his agent, Spankus Frank, today stipulating that he would be available for selection against league rivals ashford eagles on 27th Nov. Moon went on to blame a small faction of the smarden-based club's travelling support for the confusion. Moon has been unsettled at the club since the arrival of George Dyke as assistant Manager in the summer. In recent Press reports Dyke has described their relationship as 'strained'. It is understood that the two men are currently conversing through a third party, the team's journeyman left back Bruce 'chopper' Dyer. Moon refused to comment on the rift.
source: A genuine text message from Mooney, relayed to us here at Troggs FC by Bruce 'chopper' Dyer himself. This text message is currently believed to be the longest in the world. The winners here: the phone networks.
TroggsFc.co.uk contacted Dyke to hear his views on the matter and he responded in jest: "I see no problem with our relationship and I refuse to accept it will upset the harmony of the team, as suggested in some of the press. You only have to recall the succesfull sheringham and cole partnership at Man United; they didn't speak for 3 years and I see no reason why Mr. Mooney and I cannot follow suit"
There remains no official comment from the club and the Moongate saga continues.

The Troggs travelled to Canterbury at the weekend to pit their wits against the Canterbury leagues finest; Falcons FC. In a keenly constested battle the Troggs enjoyed the majority of the possesion breaking down the Falcons on 25 mins as another crunching tackle from dyke left the ball at Newmans feet who spanked in a low drive from 20 yrds out. The Troggs should have scored again in the first half, Dyke and Mooney the main culprits. Special mention must go to Mooneys awesome effort at a lob, which the keeper caught around waist hieght. However, the gaffa was happy to come in at the break 1-0 up.
The second half went much the same as the first with Gibbo and Adamson coming close and were it not for more poor mooney finishing and some good stops from the Falcons keeper this could have become a now customary Troggs rout. Falcons kept pushing for the equaliser and an impressive strike on 65 minutes was met with an equally impressive save from Rob. Newman brought on Pepper and Log on the wings and it seemed to do the trick as the Troggs wrapped up the game on 85 minutes. Newman slipped Mooney through and he finally found his scoring boots slotting the ball past the despairing Keeper. Newman finished off the Falcons and capped a fine individual performance putting away an Adamson cross on 87 minutes.
MOM's aren't usually given in cup games but with 2 goals and an assist you'd have to give it to the gaffa.
The interesting point on the victory is that this Falcons side recently beat Ashford Eagles who are currently sitting in second place behind Troggs see table
Newman commented that November 27th (Eagles at Home) is set to be the biggest game of the season so far.

Troggs racked up another win beating Ashford Rail 7-3 at the ridge.
Ashford Rail opened the scoring early, but when Adamson released Mooney, there was only one outcome, 1-1. Adamson took his chances well twice putting the Troggs in the lead. However, Ashford Rail battled back both times and defensive errors saw the Troggs limp in 3-3 at the break. After the customary inspirational half time team talk from the gaffa, the Troggs came out with intent in the second half. They took a while to break the deadlock but, in Troggsland, when it rains it pours. Adamson opened the floodgates after dyke pinged a ball at his midriff which he somehow controlled and calmly slotted past the keeper. Adamson went on to score a second half hat-trick and Mooney notched his second and seventh of the season to add to rails misery. Adamson moves on to an impressive 18 goals in just 7 games and Gibbo, now trailing 6 behind, looks £20 out of pocket.
Adamson's 5 Goals were apparently not enough for the hard to please judges calling the man of the match and instead it went to Mooney who answered his critics by turning in what you could probably call his first decent performance of the season.

"Running Riot were Troggs, who amased double figures away to sorry Highfield. Richard Moon, Ben Gibbs, George Dyke and Andy Adamson all hit doubles, John Newman and an own goal completed the drubbing."
Nice write up and well played John!

Things are hotting up in the goal charts with Andy Adamson leading on 13. Chunk is running away with the assists chart, but then he did make the stats up...
Season Match bets:
Mooney vs Dyke - Mooney must score twice as many as Dyke. £5 bet
Gibbo vs Adamson - Straight 'most goals'. £20 bet
Dyke vs Newman - Straight 'most goals'. £10 bet

Troggs Run away 10-0 winners with a convincing performance at the ridge. Adamson, Gibbo, Mooney and Dyke all bag braces, Newman Jnr gets his first of the season and an o.g. that mika is trying to claim completed the rout. Temperamental youngster Josh Newman was awarded man of the match after his powerful header, 2 assists and a solid performance at the back- Although it was a close call, in the words of the opposition manager "Its between the little guy in midfield who scored a couple and the big guy at the back"
